Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The lady at reception was very friendly, kind and helpful. We received lots of helpful information ahead of time on WhatsApp and clear instructions for check-in etc. The breakfast was nice and they accommodated our vegetarian diet. They even gave us some hot water in a flask for any tea/coffee overnight. The staff really went the extra mile.

Negative: Sadly the accommodation wasn't nearly the same standard as the staff. We did get offered a better room if we cancelled our stay on booking.com and paid a higher fee but we had already agreed and budgeted on what booking.com had set. The room we got was unclean with stains and lots of hair on the carpet, it smelt slightly damp/possibly cat pee, it didn't look like the photos. The room faced the road and a busy work yard so it was noisy at all hours. Accessing the property was difficult as the locks on the doors had quirks to open them. It is located a little far from the main historic area of the town and it didn't feel walkable due to the chaotic traffic and lack of pavements. The stay was still pleasant and is good value for money but we have paid similar fees for much better accommodation on booking.com elsewhere in Peru.
